I was working in Abergavenny Tuesday, naturally I was sporting our beloved club colours, ( as if I had to mention it), a guy I half recognised, told me he used to watch Ebbw every game, coming up from Swansea where he now lives. Last season he decided to watch the Ospreys. He is not watching them next season as the rugby was not that good, many mediocre performances, and he enjoyed watching Ebbw much more.
I said I hoped we would be seeing him again next season, who knows?
New stadia, half filled, no atmosphere, no real connection to the team on the pitch, and probably considerable more cost.
Can someone point out the appeal of the so-called "regional rugby"? I'm struggling to see it myself.
Yet more proof?
