Am I alone in this? Or does any1 else get really hacked off by every reference to Valleys rugby centreing around Pontypridd.
Apart from a pure geographical debate about whether Ponty is in a valley or at the bottom of one, does the media think that Ebbw, Maesteg, Pontypool etc exist in an oxygen free vacuum?
Tonight I've listened to a 6 Nations preview on Radio 5 with a link to a reporter 'in the heart of Welsh Valleys rugby - Sardis Road'. Tbh, I don't think it's anymore the heart of Valleys rugby than, say, Cwmllynfell.
On a wider issue, does any1 the media know that we have Valleys in Gwent?
Pontypridd = The Valleys

Pontypridd themselves try to put themselves forward as representing all the valleys. In reality they're a Cardiff communter town not 10 miles up the road.
During the gang of 6 when they wanted to exterminate all the valleys clubs they were putting forward they were the valleys and its continued since then.
The media unfortunately buy into it.
