Wales v's Ireland debacle

Post by Mykal »

Anybody else feel that the WRU have either lost control of, or don't care about ticket control for it's internationals.

I give you exhibit 1, bleedin' Stroud, for flips sake!

A lot of people are making a lot of money out of this game, and it ain't for the benefit Welsh rugby!

Got to agree. It really is out of hand now.

I thought the case quoted on the Voy board was an isolated incident, but apparantly, it's rife.

Neath RFC know who the person is (as they issued the ticket to them) and have made assurances that this person will never get another ticket from them, as they are clearly abusing the system. Well done Neath, I only hope that more cases like this are highlighted to the clubs. It stops the genuine supporters from getting tickets (unless they are loaded and can afford £500 for a ticket).

It really is sickening. :x

The WRU must know whats goyin on mun !?. Why not do away with gerrin um form clubs...seems the majority on ebay are clubs allocation or debentures. Sell them from a site ticketline or even the WRU and have first come first serve but limited to 4 per card/address.
Any other suggestions ?

Pretty easy to find out how a ticket issued to Blaenavon RFC found its way to a London agency then on to ebay, I'd have thought.

A lot of the smaller clubs will be whistling for sponsorship money next season if what I heard last night is true. A few local businesses (not Ebbw Vale based) have been sponsoring some local teams on a regular basis over the years and have collected International tickets in the process. There has been no problem when Wales were losing there wasn't a ready market but now they are on course for a Grand Slam the clubs have sold their entire allocation to corporate hospitality. The sponsors are not happy - needless to say as they have stuck by the clubs through thick and thin.

tickets

Post by piglet »

All tickets should be back in the hands of the Clubs. Those who want a ticket should be a member of a Club thereby benefiting grass roots rugby. Anyone profiteering in the manner of E bay should be blocked from further ticket allocation by the Clubs. Lets get the real fans back to see Wales

I notice that people are starting to cotton onto to the fact that you can see where the ticket came from!

And also, with regard the ticket for Welsh Schools mentioned above, are we to assume that the profit from this sale will be ploughed back into schools rugby, not bleedin' likely.
