With Damien calling time with us, who is everyone's candidates for a new skipper?
For me personally it has to be someone who has been in the squad for a while, leads by example and has the experienced rugby brain to lead, motivate and make decisions when needed.
Although he hasn't been mentioned as yet as staying, to me if he is then it would have to be.....
Ashley Sweet.

Have heard from a Nantyglo RFC committee man our captain will be Ronny Kynes. My informant is usually spot on. All other info I get is usually spot on .

Re: New captain?
I like Ronny as a player, and he'd be first name on my team sheet every week if I was coach.
But is he really a captain figure? An "enforcer", a motivator, making key decisions at crucial times of close games?
No disrespect intended, maybe as I'm not close to the team I don't know his true character and if I'm off the mark will happily stand corrected by those in the know.
But is he the leader of men who will pick his side up when they are down, interact with officials, take no nonsense from bully boy teams. etc?
Damien is going to be such a hard act to follow on and off the pitch, maybe my benchmark is just set to high!!
