No mention of it but a nicely needed BP win. Even though they're struggling, Bedwas is never an easy game and always fairly brutal (although to be fair to them, on the TV at least there seemed to be a lot less nasty, cynical and physical offences from them this match).
In control throughout except for 10-15 mins in the second half where we got exposed through mistakes and a lack of pace on the right. The 3 tries conceded all game from our attacking ball then a kick and footrace which ultimately we lost.
Utterly dominated in the forwards which gave Jones a chance to control the game, which he took admirably. Bedwas lineout was also atrocious although its hard to tell how much of that was us pressurising it or them simply not turning up.
End of the year finish in 3rd place is probably more than most of us would have hoped for at the start of the season.

It was an excellent win for Ebbw. Good to see both BBC TV pundits getting it so wrong in their previews, both seemed to be using sentiment and not reason in believing Bedaws would win. Certainly Bedwas were very good on the counter attack but were outplayed in very department for most of the game. To be fair they kept trying till the end. It's been a good December for the Team, Management, and us Supporters. Please keep it up and a good new year to all.

That was a tremendous win for us on Boxing day.Just over twelve months ago ,we lost by 50 odd points.Been looking at the remaining games for BARGOED,BEDWAS and X KEYS.To put it bluntly ,it is going to be hard for the three of them to stay up next season.They have some really tough fixtures left.

,I was at that game last season,35-5 down at half time !!! What a difference a year makes eh? Rhys' best game for us by a mile .Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.Hated seeing myself on the telly .Looked like Victor Meldrew.Interesting to see Justin Burnell there .Heard he had a word at half time with Ben Brakespeare suggesting Ebbw were scrummaging illegally,then went back in five minutes later suggesting Bedwas were scrummaging illegally !! Hope Cardiff smash his ponty side New Years Day.Can't stand the guy .Happy New Year everyone !
